If there’s one thing I absolutely hate, it’s wasting time waiting on hold and talking to utility (bill) companies ! Being a homeschooling mother of five, one with special needs, I don’t have time to sit on hold forever. Then get transferred from person to person trying to find someone who knows what they’re doing.

So here are some tips on how to save time talking to utility companies.

* Use chat instead of calling – Almost every company out there has a website, go to the website and click on help, contact us, or customer support. It will show what options are available to get in touch with the company, click on chat.

You can resolve your question or issue pretty quick by chatting online instead of calling on the phone.

* Email – If your issue or question isn’t urgent, you can usually email the company and get a response within 24 hours.

* Keep track of dates and names of who you talk to – If you have to call more then once about an issue, keep a log of the dates, times, and names of who you talk to. This helps save a ton of time having to repeat your question or issue over and over every time you contact the company.

Implementing these few things will save you a ton of time !
